Dharamshala

Built along a spur of the Dhauladhar range the hill station of Dharamshala is divided into several totally separable parts, with each part lying on a different level. While the lowest end of the town is at a height of 1250 m the higher part is just below the snowline thus leading to a wide variation in temperature between the top and the bottom.
Originally a British hill resort Dharamshala today is characterised by a strong Tibetan influence.
