Golconda |
| Originally founded as a mud fort by the Kakatiya dynasty of Warangal in the the 13th century, Golconda fort was rebuilt into a massive structure under the reign of the Qutub Shahi kings over a span of 62 years. Once famous for its diamond mines the fort now lies partly in ruins. |

Famous features of Golconda include its palaces, water supply system and the famous Fateh Rahben Cannon. However the most remarkable feature of the fort is its acoustic system whereby a clapping of hands at the entry gate can be heard at the top of the fort 19 m high. Another attraction at the Golconda fort is the spectacular sound and light show which brings the legend of Golconda to life through its breathtaking interplay of audio and visual effects.
