Kumarakom

Known as the backwater country, Kumarakom is just an-hour-and-a-half cruise journey from Cochin. It is a fascinating journey ending at this peaceful place on the shores of the Vembanad Lake.

Kumarakom has its own charm restful and quiet. A house boat ride into the countryside offers an interesting view of normal village life - of fishermen launching their boats, women working in houses or standing neck deep in water trying to catch fish with their feet, of cattle grazing, and much more. Incidentaly, these houseboats are well furnished though simply done, with a comfortable bedroom, kitchen, modern toilets and even an open sit out area for enjoying the outside view or for just having a go at angling.

ACCESS
