LahaulIn Lahaul, it is said, the metaphysical acquires a new dimension. While Buddhism and Hinduism are the major religions, there are also village deities whose representations may range from a piece of cloth tied around a tree to totem poles with a trident on top and the tail hair of the Yak hung aloft. Bringing warmth and colour to the stark mountain slopes of Lahaul's landscape are the friendly smiles of the Lahauli people in their bright attire and exquisite jewellery. The Lahauli terrain is a hiker's delight and its varied wildlife would attract the nature lover. ACCESS Kulu is the nearest airport while Shimla and Pathankot are the nearest railheads.
