Nagpur

Nagpur is famous for its oranges.Geographically speaking, Nagpur is situated at the centre of India. Nestling in the midst of the Saputara hill ranges, Nagpur has a number of dense forests and national parks around it.

Close to the city's railway station, lies the Sitabaldi Hill with a fort providing a panoramic view of the city, its gardens and six lakes. The city was the capital of the Bhonsle branch of the Maratha rulers. The remains of their palace, which was burnt in 1854, can still be seen near the Hislop College.

Ramtek, 47 km, has a large numbers of temples dedicated to Lord Rama. Mansai and Navegaon Kher near by are archaeological sites which have ruins dating back to the 5th century. Adasa, 27km, is a hindu pligrim centre. The Pench National Park, 65 km away, is one of the largest national parks in the state. Closeby is Ghuhhugarh fort of the 4th or 5th century A . D., with a temple in its precincts. The Taboda National Park, 218 km, has a crocodile breeding farm. Magzira Wild life Sanctuary 140 km, Nawegaon Natoinal Park, also140 km, Mogarkasa Wildlife Sanctury.
