Ooty
Ootacamund or 'Snooty Ooty', as it is often called, was once the summer resort of the Chennai Government during the British Raj. Spread out among rolling hills 7,429 feet above sea level, Ooty offers marvellous scenic beauty, ringed with lovely blue hills, soft grassy slopes and a crisp, balmy air.
ACCESS
Coimbatore (89 km) is the nearest airport from where one can take a taxi or bus. The broad gauge railhead is Mettupalaiyam from where one can take the delightful mountaintrain, bus or taxi. Buses, taxis are available from Mysore, Bangalore, Coimbatore and Mettupalaiyam.
