Binsar (30 kms.): Once the summer capital of the Chand Rajas (7 th to 8 th centuries), Binsar is one of the most scenic spots in the Kumaon Himalyas and a well acclaimed hill resort. Binsar hills offer an excellent view of Almora town, kumaon Hills and the greater Himalayas. The main attraction of Binsar is the majestic view of the Himalayas. Gananath (47 kms.): is famous for its cave and the Shiva temple. Gwalakot (26 kms.): This land mass bears an uncanny resemblance to peninsular India. Jageshwar (34 kms.): is counted among the 12 Jyotirlingas in the country. Katarmal (17 kms.): is renowned for an 800 years old sun temple.
