Munnar

A nature's lover paradise, in Munnar you can fill your holidays with quite moments at 1600m above sea level . There are about thirty estates along with old churches with ancient chandeliers and rose wood pews with a heady fragrance of fresh tea and herds of elephants, bisons, langurs and macaques raoming free.

Munnar offers an opportunity to learn how tea is processed and to sometimes buy the tea directly from the garden.

ACCESS

Munnar is accesbile only by road - a scenic four hour drive from Cochin (132 kms) or a 4 1/2 hour drive from Kottayam (148 kms).

PLACES OF INTEREST

Kundale Tea Plantation: An area around a lovely lake that offers some of the most stunning views of the region; Eravikulam National Park: 30 minutes drive and hiking a few kilometres the park is the home to free-roaming ibex; Rajmalai: The region lying beyond the road entry into Eravikulam. At 2695 metres, Anamudi - the highest peak in south India looms here. High Range Club: Charmingly colonial in style, this wicker-and-old-teak club still serves as a social centre for the flung farmers of the region around Munnar.
